Bryce Canyon has been on my bucket list for so long. If you have been following my blogs for a while now, you know that I always try to visit national parks during the off seasons. Mostly, its because I want to try to enjoy these parks with as few crowds as possible, but Bryce Canyon in the winter seems to make it extra special. Bryce Canyon is full of incredible rock formations, epic sunrises, and hiking trails that should be a must on any Utah national park bucket list. Bryce Canyon seems to be more of an underrated national park in Utah as its smaller in size and you can definitely see the highlights in one day.
So where is Bryce Canyon? We chose to fly into Las Vegas airport and its about a 4 hour drive. Now the epic thing about Bryce Canyon is its a perfect add on trip when visiting Utah. Bryce Canyon is conveniently located near some of Utah’s most incredible destinations, like Zion National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and even Valley of fire state park in Nevada as you drive right past it on your way to these parks.

So lets get to it. What should you see on your winter trip to Bryce Canyon? I have you covered!
If there is one hike you do in Bryce Canyon make sure this is the one. This 3.1 mile loop hike takes you down where you can walk through the hoodoos. Make sure you bring your camera as there are so many photo op’s on this trail.
This is a great option to see the amphitheater of Bryce Canyon. You can walk from sunset point to sunrise point which is about 1 mile round trip.
3. Watch the sunrise!
In my humble opinion, watching the sunrise in Bryce Canyon is something you just cant skimp. The way the amphitheater lights up as the sunrises is insanely beautiful. The best place to take in the sunrise is Sunset point or Sunrise point.
If you have the time on your way out of Bryce Canyon stop off for this quick 0.2 mile hike. Its really cool to see the falls frozen.

Where to stay in Bryce Canyon?
There are two good options that are a 10 minute drive from the entrance of Bryce Canyon. They are by no means fancy, but do the job. We stayed at Ruby’s Inn. I enjoyed this hotel with a stocked market, clean rooms and a really good salad bar for dinner. There is also this best western which is a another close option. Unfortunately, when visiting in the winter there are fewer options for lodging & activities.

Overall, Bryce Canyon in the winter is a magical place to be. With less crowds and snowy trails, I hope this post has convinced you to visit this incredible park.
xoxo,
Jacqueline
