One of the most stunning cities I have ever seen is Santa Barbara. If you have never ventured to Santa Barbara my vote says its time to go. Short on time? I have narrowed my favorite little stops in a 24 hour itinerary for you.
Mission Santa Barbara
Tucked away in Santa Barbara is one of the prettiest botanical gardens & Mission buildings I have ever been to. The beautiful botanical gardens are 78 acres with sweeping views of the Santa Ynez mountains and serves as a home to several old landmarks dating back to 1803. On your drive up the hill you will stop past the Mission Santa Barbara church that dates back to 1786. There are a few gardens you can walk normally walk through here but for us unfortunately, they were closed due to covid. However the building alone is worth a quick stop on your way to the botanical gardens.
Yellow Garage Door
Now that you have built up an appetite lets take you back to downtown area of Santa Barbara. There are several places to eat here. We decided to grab lunch at Eureka I loved this outdoor mall and dont forget to stop by the colorful stairs right outside Eureka. After you have topped off your belly take a photo opp and stroll to the adorable yellow garage wall. (208 Gray Ave Santa Barbara)
Butterfly Beach
This dreamy beach as actually located in Montecito. Now, before you hit the beach be sure to check out the pedestrian only trail that is located at the top of the hill. You stroll through gorgeous gardens and have gorgeous views of the pacific ocean. Once you come back down grab your blanket and head down to butterfly beach to watch the epic California sunset. Butterfly Beach is truly the perfect Cali beach!
Where to stay
1. Best Location Hilton Santa Barbara puts you front and center with the palm tree’s and beach front.2. Best bang for your buck Mar Monte Hyatt is also in a great location and actually really modern. This is where we stayed.3. High End. Now if you want to splurge the fourseasons santabarbara is the place for you!
